Funny, we've heard about the millions of dollars Adelson, Kochs, Perry, Simmons and others have been contributing toward political campaigns. I haven't heard anything about any of them contributing to the Red Cross to help those affected by Isaac. Has anyone heard anything about that? But hey, we all know the candidates they are sponsoring care about America and Americans...because they said so...right?

You have probably heard about their political contributions from the Left; and, liberals would never acknowledge that those on the Right could ever do anything good (therefore, no mention of donations to any charitable organization).

As a point of reference, the Koch brothers have given over $100 million dollars to right wing causes. However, they have given more than $600 million dollars to charitable organizations including:

New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell: $15 million

M.D. Anderson Cancer Center: $25 million

The Hospital for Special Surgery: $26 million

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center: $30 million

    Prostate Cancer Foundation: $41 million

    Deerfield Academy: $68 million

Lincoln Center’s NY State Theater: $100 million

Massachusetts Institute of Technology: $139 million

Since this post seems to want to discuss political donations, let’s look at George Soros (far-left billionaire financier) and his donations vs. the Koch brothers. Since 2001, the Koch brothers have donated $1.5 million dollars to non-profit, tax-exempt organizations that are allowed to raise money for political activities (527 groups). Mr. Soros has donated a whopping $32.5 million to left-wing 527 groups. To be fair, Soros does give a tremendous amount to charity, but it almost goes to his own foundation Open Society Foundations (OSF). OSF has a very specific agenda and does very little to benefit the people of this country – but isn’t that in keeping with the liberal way?

Was there any fact checking done before you posted; or, is this a pure left-wing smear tactic? The funny thing with liberals is that facts confuse them.

What I find interesting is that you suggest I should do some fact checking before I posted this. That would be fine if I had posted something which was fact checkable. What I posted was a question. In addition, there are quite a few power brokers who sponsor the Right and comparitively few who sponsor the Left. Those who sponsor the Right are promoting policies which only benefit themselves. Those who sponsor the Left are promoting policies which benefit the masses. I have no doubt that anyone who gets to that level is as ruthless as any of us could imagine whether they sponsor the Left or the Right but when you consider the policies of each side, the Right is anything but humanitarian in nature, yet they espouse being the party of family values. They do that for the purpose of dividing this country. It is working. All power brokers at that level are greedy pigs and they have every right to be just that, but no one should have the right to own our government. If you think there isn’t a massive power play by the wealthy going on to rule the world, you’re a blind idiot. United we stand – divided we fall. Do you really want to go back to Bush’s failed policies?

Did you see Stephen Colbert’s interview with Jon Huntsman last night? Now that Huntsman has pretty much taken himself out of running for political office, he was quite candid about the republican party. He told them that they had moved too far to the right for him to be a speaker at the convention this year. While he is still supporting Mitt Romney, his support is lukewarm at best.

Kinda like the lukewarm support of Gov. Christie…

I didn’t see Colbert and I haven’t watched the convention. I can’t take the hype and bullshit, and that’s all it is. Truth seems to have no place in our political arena. It’s all bought and paid for lies for the benefit of those who are footing the bill. None of it has anything to do with what’s best for America or Americans. It all has to do with those who wish to rule the world. Wonderful!!! – Let’s put Adelson, the Kochs, Perry, Simmons in charge of our military. ThisandThat seems to think that any of them, including Soros should have the power to take us over. I don’t. "Of the people, for the people and by the people is gone and as far as I’m concerned, we are headed for revolution if we don’t get legislation passed to put our government back into the hands of the people. I will be happy to lead the charge against these vile, greedy pigs.

I watched about 30 minutes on Wednesday night. I saw on the late news about 2 minutes of Romney nearly breaking down, talking about his mother. Boehner-reminiscent. Not sure it works on the general population…

I remember when he started, I tired of him pretty quickly. I think there wasn’t enough difference between watching him and the Hannity-types he parodies, it still felt like a negative place to be. At some point though, it became less that way and he just got, I dunno, sillier, I guess, and funnier. It’s all good now.
And is that guy living the dream! OMG!
